The character of Frodo Baggins appears in all the Lord of the Rings games, but is only a playable character in Lord of the Rings : The Fellowship of the Ring and The Lord of the Rings : The Return of the King. In the other games such as Lord of the Rings : The Two Towers, Lord of the Rings : The Third Age, and Lord of the Rings : Conquest, Frodo Baggins appears in video cut scenes, as a an unplayable game character or is just mentioned in the game. In the Lord of the Rings : The Fellowship of the Ring, Frodo is a playable character throughout the game in settings such as the Shire, the Old Forest, the Barrow Downs, The Mines of Moria, and Amon Hen. As a character Frodo is able to wield a stick and eventually a sword, Sting, with which he can attack enemies. He also has the Ring which can be used in the game to disappear for a time, but which has a time limit and can result in the failure of the mission if the Ring is worn for longer than the allotted time. Frodo can be used to fight, travel throughout Middle Earth, and communicate with other characters in the game. In Lord of the Rings : The Return of the King Frodo is playable along the Hobbits' Path and can be used to complete the very last mission, Mt Doom. In this game Frodo can be upgraded with new moves, skills, and stronger weapons. Upon completion of the game, Frodo (and any other character) can be used in any level.
